What it is
The short version
Burner management components, oxygen trim sensors and cells, drives, pressure and temperature transmitters, and the interface hardware between the boiler and a building automation system.
Controls age out faster than the vessels they sit on. A twenty-year-old boiler in good condition frequently outlives the availability of its original control, which turns a parts request into a retrofit conversation.

What makes it the right part
- Still available?
- Establish this first. If the original is obsolete, the question becomes which retrofit path is least disruptive, and that is a different quote.
- Signal type
- What the device sends and what the receiving control expects. A mismatch here is discovered at commissioning.
- Calibration
- Whether the replacement needs commissioning to be useful. Oxygen cells in particular are not drop-in.
- Integration
- If it reports to a BAS, the protocol has to survive the change.
